Harbor Cycle Repair is Owen Mercer’s small, independent bicycle repair business in Harbor Ward. Owen works with the bikes people ride to work, to the shops and around their neighbourhood. His starting point is simple: a useful bicycle deserves a careful assessment before it is replaced.
Repair is also his livelihood. Skilled time and replacement parts have a cost. Owen explains what he finds, distinguishes essential work from optional improvements and leaves room for the rider to decide. Keeping an older bike going can be worthwhile; making every repair at any cost is not the aim.

Everyday Bicycle Repair covers common mechanical problems: punctures and worn tyres, brake and gear adjustment, chain wear and routine checks. The first step is to understand the symptom and how the bike is used, then assess what work and parts would be sensible.
Electric-bike batteries and electronics, damaged frames, specialist suspension work, collection and delivery, and roadside rescue are outside this example. Parts, scope, cost and timing would need agreement before any real work.
Harbor Makers Cooperative shares the interest in repair and reuse. Its volunteer learning and shared-workshop ideas are separate from Owen’s paid repair work. Neither organisation is presented as booking the other’s services.
