About the event
This fictional demonstration event is an Open Workshop Day at Harbor Hall on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., America/Halifax. Harbor Makers Cooperative is the organiser, with Samira Vale coordinating the day. Admission is free, no sign-up is needed, and there are no tickets or payments.
The proposed programme introduces Harbor Hall Renewal and possible future workshop use through drawings, hand-crafted examples and conversation. The planning capacity is 30 visitors for the event. Admission would be free and open to residents and visitors without cooperative membership. Adrian Moss could join as a visitor; Nora Bell and Ellis Park could bring neighbours' questions about access and noise.
The venue plan uses a ground-floor welcome and display area, with chairs, drinking water, an accessible washroom and a quiet table for longer conversations. A signed, step-free visitor route would connect the entrance and display area. Visitors would stay within that area; no powered-tool sessions, construction activity or access to the rest of the former warehouse is planned. These are fictional event provisions, not a statement that renewal work has been approved or completed.
Visitors would approach the Harbor Ward entrance on foot from the public harbour-side route, without using Quayside House's residential entrance or parking. A welcome volunteer would explain the route and seating options. Short introductions at 10:15 a.m. and noon would leave time for questions, with the day closing at 2 p.m. There is no online comment channel.
The event would help the Community Trust and cooperative understand residents' needs. It would not approve a new use, construction schedule or permanent workshop operation. Fictional demonstration content.
